Web design in
Alphen aan den Rijn.
Web design in Alphen aan den Rijn where the same person designs and builds: one fixed price up front, live in two to three weeks. Not an off-the-shelf theme with your logo dropped in, but a design that comes out of your own brand. Webframer is based in Hazerswoude-Dorp, so going through the design together at a table is easy enough.
Why people here start with design.
Your site looks like a thousand others
A marketplace theme with your logo top left. Functionally fine, but nothing in it says this is your business and not your competitor's.
The design was never built as intended
A designer delivered something good, a builder made something else of it, and the result is a compromise nobody is happy with.
Your brand exists on paper, not online
Colours, typeface and tone are right in your print work and on your van, and somewhere on the way to the site they went missing.
On a phone it falls apart
On a large screen it looks fine, on mobile the blocks slide over each other. Which is where most of your visitors are.
Good-looking, but it brings in nothing
Visitors arrive and leave again. Usually because nothing in the design makes clear what the next step should be.
Every change has to go through the designer
Adjusting a line of text or swapping a photo costs an email, a wait and an invoice.
How a design project runs here.
Looking at what already exists
Brand, print work, photos, the van, the shopfront. Inside the Alphen aan den Rijn municipality I come and see it rather than email about it. Often half the design is already there, just not online yet.
Structure first, beauty second
Which pages, which message per page, which step a visitor should take. A design sitting on the wrong structure does not get better by making it prettier.
Design in screens you can judge
You see the main pages on desktop and on mobile, with your own colours, typefaces and photos in them. We adjust until it is right, and only then does the build start.
Building without losses on the way
Because I build it myself, the design is not reinterpreted by someone else along the way. What you approved on screen is what goes live, including on a phone with poor reception.
- ✓An original design out of your own brand
- ✓Design and build by the same person
- ✓Works at any screen size, mobile first
- ✓Accessible: contrast, headings and keyboard
- ✓A CMS where you edit text and imagery yourself
- ✓Design files and code in your name
Design is part of the project price by default; it is not a separate line and not extra work. After the first call you get a cost indication, and within 24 hours a proposal with scope and planning.
What web design means here
Web design is often sold as the coat of paint on top of a website. Here it is the first decision: how your business comes across to someone who does not know you yet. That is partly taste and partly behaviour, and the second part can be steered.
In practice that means one clear message per page, a next step you do not have to hunt for, and imagery that is yours instead of out of a stock library. That last one sounds small and is not. A photo of your own workshop does more than a smiling stranger behind a laptop.
And the most underrated part: it has to load fast. A design that only appears after four seconds is no longer a design, because half your visitors have clicked back by then.
- ✓One message and one next step per page
- ✓Your own imagery over stock photography
- ✓Contrast and text sizes that stay readable
- ✓Fast on mobile, even on poor reception
Why design and build sit with one person
In the usual setup a designer delivers a file and someone else rebuilds it. What disappears in between are the things the design never showed: how a menu opens on mobile, what happens when a line of text is twice as long as in the example, what a form looks like when someone makes a mistake.
When the same person designs and builds, those questions get answered during the design instead of papered over during the build. It also removes a link from the costs and a couple of weeks from the planning.
What I build with is on tech, and the full track from first call to handover on how I work.
Redesigning a site that already exists
Most design questions here are not about a new site but about an existing one that no longer fits. That is usually good news: text, photos and structure already exist, and the work is in redesigning and rebuilding.
What matters is that your findability does not collapse. Every old URL gets a redirect to the new page, so the positions you built up move along. Why that is the step that goes wrong most often is written up in what a migration costs you in rankings.
If you are not sure a redesign is due yet, when is your website ready for replacement helps.
The villages around Alphen too
Webframer is based in Hazerswoude-Dorp, so everything inside the municipality and the immediate neighbours is a fifteen-minute drive. On a design project that genuinely helps: looking at a screen together beats putting arrows in a PDF.
What can follow
The design is one part of a bigger track. What else goes into a site is on website development in Alphen aan den Rijn. If you want to sell from your site, that is a webshop.
If clients need to log in to see documents or the status of their job, it becomes a client portal. Earlier work is on work.
