01 · Problem
What the client ran into
The quote lives in Word, the invoice in Excel and the VAT on a notepad. Every amount gets retyped three times, and each time it can go wrong. At the end of the quarter it is a search for which invoice was paid and what has to be declared.
02 · Approach
How I built it
- One line from quote to order to invoice, so every amount is typed once
- The client signs the quote online and pays the invoice with iDEAL
- Bank statements imported and matched to open invoices
- A VAT return per box, built from the invoices that are already there
- Payment reminders that go out by themselves
03 · Result
What it delivered
- ✓No more amount that reads differently in two places
- ✓The VAT return is copying over instead of working out
- ✓In beta, with the first users on board for free
