01 · Problem
What the client ran into
An app in the App Store cannot handle everything itself. Signing in on several devices, password recovery, checking your subscription and requesting or deleting your data belong on the web, and they have to line up with what the app does.
02 · Approach
How I built it
- A separate web environment for account management, apart from the app but on the same database
- Sign-in by email and through the app, with sessions that hold up in both places
- Subscription status in plain view, including what was bought and until when
- Data access and deletion handled by the user instead of by a support email
03 · Result
What it delivered
- ✓One login for app and web
- ✓Support questions about passwords and subscriptions largely gone
- ✓GDPR requests handled by the software itself
