Connect Moneybird,
and keep the books clean.
Moneybird has a tidy API and webhooks, so creating an invoice is quick. What makes it tricky is everything around it: which contact belongs to which customer, which tax rate goes on which line, and what your system does when an invoice in Moneybird flips to paid.
What goes wrong when you build it yourself.
Duplicate contacts
The lookup is by name or email address, and the first typo creates a second contact. After that, invoices and payments are spread across two records.
Tax rate based on a percentage
Moneybird works with tax rates that each have their own ID per administration. Sending a percentage and hoping it lands right fails on reverse charge or foreign customers.
A few cents off
Prices including or excluding VAT, rounding per line or over the total. Choose differently from Moneybird and the invoice amount no longer matches what your customer saw in your system.
Payment status never updates
The invoice goes to Moneybird, gets paid there, and your system keeps showing it as open. Customers get a reminder for something they already paid.
Webhooks trusted blindly
A webhook that is not checked, or that acts twice on a duplicate notification, causes exactly the errors the integration was meant to prevent.
The integration hangs on one person
A personal API token from whoever set it up once. If that person leaves or revokes access, everything stops without a warning.
From invoice to payment status, the same in both systems.
A fixed link between records
With every contact and invoice I store the Moneybird ID, and in Moneybird your own customer number. Lookups go by ID, never by name.
Mapping agreed up front
Which products go to which revenue account and with which tax rate, I settle with you. The integration reads the rates and ledger accounts from Moneybird instead of guessing them.
Webhooks for what comes back
Moneybird reports changes such as a paid invoice through a webhook. I check the notification, fetch the object again from Moneybird and process it idempotently, so a duplicate notification does not become a duplicate action.
Access that does not hang on one person
Connected to the administration through OAuth, with access stored securely in one place. If access drops, you get a warning instead of silence.

Tell me what you want to build.
A half-hour call. You get an honest answer about what it costs, how long it takes and whether building it is smart at all.
Have your current site or tool scanned
You do not have to want to buy anything yet. Send what you have and I will tell you honestly what I would keep, what I would replace and whether that is worth the investment. Including when the answer is that you are better off doing nothing.
The scan is a first impression, not a security audit.
- 01Send a link to your site, your tool or your repository
